A Fragrance Born of Tragedy and Grace
In the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, I discovered the inspiration for OPHÉLIE, a perfume line that reflects both timeless beauty and the fragility of life. The name OPHÉLIE was born from the tragic and poetic character of Ophelia in Shakespeare's Hamlet. Her story of love, loss, and nature’s gentle embrace resonated deeply with me, as did the haunting imagery of her final moments, surrounded by the very flowers and roots that speak to the beauty of life and death.
Each fragrance in the OPHÉLIE collection tells a chapter of her story, capturing the emotions and symbolism of her journey. Ophelia's love, loyalty, and unexpected changed from descent into madness woman were captured not only in Shakespeare’s words but also in the elements of nature that surrounded her. It is said that Ophelia, after her father’s death and Hamlet’s betrayal, she wandered into the water, her delicate form adorned with flowers and herbs, floating gently as life left her.
